| A End to a Great Era: Michelle Kwan |
I have been a Michelle Kwan fans since like forever, and I was like devestated that Michelle as dropped out of Torino Winter Olympics. She has achieve so much yet can not fullfil her goal, Gold. She has seen Gold like in every event, 9 times US champion , 5 time World Champion (9 straight medals 42 perfect 6.0 scores (this will never be beaten), her achievement are outstanding but a huge hole was left, olympic gold. twice completed one silver, one bronze, both times heavily favored, twice ended up coming short. She was so close yet so so far.
I was deeply sadden by this news and a terrible way to end such a remarable carrer.
But I found her couragerous that she dropped out when it meant so much to her.
She doesn't need a olympic gold to define her career, the little skaters around who started because of Michelle, that is what her carrer was about. 5 time world (9 meds straight) 9 times US champion outweighs olympic gold. Tara and Sarah, we won't remember them as they just dropped out of skating after winning, we will forever remember Michelle Kwan, a athlete that defined her sport forever.
